Dutch shortstop Mariekson Gregorius got added to the roster of the Cincinnati Reds for their Cactus League game last Sunday. He made his debut as a defensive replacement against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but remained hitless in his lone at-bat. The 21-year-old is going to enter his fourth professional season. He had a busy offseason, being named the best defensive player at the 2010 IBAF Intercontinental Cup in Taiwan and in the Australian Baseball League. Last year he started with the Dayton Dragons in the Midwest League, but got promoted to the Lynchburg Hillcats (High-A, Carolina League) at the end of the season.
