The BUCHBINDER LEGINOAERE and the TORNADOS won their best-of-five semi-final series on Saturday and advanced into the German Baseball-Bundesliga finals, which will start in mid-September.
MANNHEIM swept their series against HEIDENHEIM, winning game three 6-1 behind Paul Waterman’s gem. The southern conference leader again disappointed offensive wise and was eliminated.
REGENSBURG clinched their final berth with a 2-0 shutout in game four. Alex Lauterbach hit a first-inning homerun to lead the Bavarian club into the third straight title series. Northern conference winner ALLIGATORS had won game three to cut the deficit in the series to a game. But it was not enough, as the LEGIONAERE used their second match ball.
Short Recaps to follow on Tuesday.
