A local executive council granted 4.2 Million Euros to renovate the Pim Mulier Baseball Stadium (built in 1963) in Haarlem, Netherlands. The makeover process, which already began, not only concentrates on the ballpark, but also on the service buildings around the stadium. Indoor pitching and batting facilities, strength and media rooms, two baseball and softball fields and electric scoreboards will be added as well.
After the completion of the construction process, the Pim Mulier Stadium is already going to meet the requirements for the upcoming European Baseball League (EBL), which is supposed to start after the European Championships in 2010. The renovations are expected to be completed for the 2010 Haarlem Baseball Week. However as the ballpark is also a second-round venue at the 2009 IBAF Baseball World Cup the important parts of the facilities will be ready next September.
