Last Friday Italian reliever Luca Martignoni reached an interesting milestone, as he cracked the 1,000 innings pitched mark in a game between T&A San Marino and Unipol Bologna. A strikeout to Marco Sabbatani sealed the deal in the eighth inning. He and his Titans will be playing in the Italian Baseball Series, starting on Friday. They will face Danesi Nettuno in the best-of-seven series and the veteran gets a chance to add to his total. During the regular season this year Martignoni had a 1-0 record with an ERA of 2.21 in eleven appearances (two starts) on the mound, being their second best reliever behind Darwin Cubilan. In the playoffs he got hit hard, allowing nine hits, eight runs (7 ER) and three walks in just 5 2/3 innings.
