Posted on March 4, 2015March 4, 2015 by philipp

Right-handed pitcher Loek van Mil is going to play in the Netherlands this year. After eight seasons with affiliated minor league teams in the United States and one in Japan, the 30-year-old is going to pitch for Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam.

The former player of Mr. Cocker HCAW and L&D Amsterdam played for the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds during his time in the US. In late 2013 he made the move to Japan, joining eventually the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles for the 2014 season, playing for their farm team. During his minor league career the tall hurler had an ERA of 3.23 in 233 games.

Van Mil is making a short return to Japan this week, as he is on the roster for Team Europe for their Global Baseball Matchup against Samurai Japan on March 10 and 11 (Live at Eurosport 2).
