XIX INTERNATIONAL INDOOR BASEBALL TOURNAMENT “DZIALDOWO CUP 2009”
From February 5th to 8th, 2009, the 9th International Indoor Baseball Tournament “Dzialdowo Cup 2009” was held in Dzialdowo, Poland. Among the 12 participants (from Poland, Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Rumania) three teams from Lithuania took part in the in the hunt for the Polish President Cup. The teams were divided into two groups: “Sporto vilkai” I from Lithuania was the first in group A; “Botosani CSS” from Rumania won group B. With a score of 7-4, “Sporto vilkai” I from Lithuania won the Final and the Polish President Cup.
The names of three Lithuanian baseball players – Tomas Michalskis (“Lituanica”), Kasparas Bareika (“Sporto vilkai” I) and Arnoldas Paciukevicius (“Sporto vilkai”II) – were announced to the traditional Tournament’s All Stars roster. The most useful players of the Lithuanian teams were Karolis Dabrisilis (“Lituanica”), Kestas Vilimas (“Sporto vilkai”I) and Kasparas Stadalnikas (“Sporto vilkai”II). The MVP award went to the player of “Sporto vilkai” I (Lithuania) Gerdas Palciukas.
