Leon Boyd threw a no-hitter on Thursday in the Hoofdklasse, leading DOOR NEPTUNUS to a 5-2 victory against L&D AMSTERDAM. He allowed just three walks and hit two batters. One of the two runs he gave up was earned. He struck out seven in the nine innings. He is now 7-0 with an ERA of 1.01 this season.
Eugene Kingsale had led off the game with a solo homerun, his fourth of the season. AMSTERDAM countered by scoring two runs in the bottom of the second. But DOOR regained the lead in the fifth and added two insurance runs in the eighth to secure the victory. Benjamin Dille was two-for-four with three RBI. Ryan Murphy took his second loss of the year, charged with three runs (2 ER) on seven hits.
In the lone other matchup on Thursday, CORENDON KINHEIM celebrated their second shutout in two days, beating ADO 8-0.
