KNBSB withdraws Permission to let Mike Hartley coach Heidenheim in Rotterdam

Posted on June 2, 2015 by philipp

Just a couple of days after giving permission to Mike Hartley to manage the German Baseball-Bundesliga club Heidenheim Heidekoepfe during the European Cup except their match against host Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam, the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) has withdrawn it. KNBWB withdrew after objection of Curacao Neptunus according to Honkbalsite.com. No reason was published.

Heidenheim started against ASD Rimini into the tournament, Rotterdam versus KNTU Elizavetgrad. On Thursday the Heidekoepfe meet Curacao Neptunus in the evening. The former Major League pitcher Hartley coached the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe until last season. With him they won the German championship in 2009 and reached the European Cup Final Four in 2010 as the first German team ever. Since April he is the pitching coach at KNBSB.

Why is it that, though the Dutch are delightful, friendly, giving people, Dutch baseball is always dominated by the petty and childishly self-absorbed?

Note to the KNBSB: The real baseball world hardly knows who you are, and couldn’t care less.
