The Karlskoga Bats won the Swedish baseball championship after beating Sundbyberg Heat 5-4 in game four of the best-of-five series.
The Bats started strong and scored three runs in the first two frames. The Heat cut the lead to 2-3 in the fifth, but Karlskoga added two more one inning later. Sundbyberg rallied at the end, although they failed to score a fifth run.
Catcher Rickard LJUNG and center fielder Per LINDGREN had three hits apiece for the Heat. LINDGREN, Philip GAIZLER and Vincent PERSSON had RBI.
Joe ROVIROSA (2-2, 2 bb) reached base in all four plate appearances for the Bats. Petter LUNDBERG, Shawn VANCE, Olle OJIEN, Christoffer JOHANSSON and Kent KARLSSON batted runs in.
Adam SOWELL (W 2-0) pitched a complete game. He gave up ten hits, four runs and six walks. He struck out eight. Michael ANDERSSON (L 0-1) allowed five hits, five runs and seven base on balls in six innings.
