According to the NOS Videotext catcher Kaitlyn Gentile will leave the Italian Softball League club Museo D’Arte Nuoro to join the Dutch club Iber Lengua Terrasvogels for the upcoming season. The Hoofdklasse team also confirmed extensions for pitcher Aimee Murch and second baseman Christina Rolla.
Gentile had a .213 batting average (OBP .270/SLG .350) with two homeruns, five doubles, eight runs scored and twelve RBI in 28 games in Italy last year. She also was teammate of Rolla during the European Softball Championship in Valencia, when Italy finished in sixth place with a 3-4 overall record.
Rolla batted .418 (OBP .518/SLG .714) with three homeruns, four triples, ten doubles, 20 runs scored and 25 RBI in 32 games in her first season in the Netherlands. Murch had a 16-5 record with an ERA of 1.09 in 25 games (18 starts) in 2009. She struck out 143 in 134 1/3 innings, walking 31.
