The Los Angeles Dodgers have released the French outfielder Joris Bert on Juny 17. After drafting a bunch of outfielders they simply hadn’t any room left in the farm system for the first player from France being selected in the MLB amateur draft (19th round in 2007). He played two years for the Gulf Coast League affiliate of the Dodgers in Florida, batting .240 (OBP .398/SLG .281) with 13 runs scored and nine RBI in 96 at-bats thru 40 games. Bert already returned to his hometown Rouen and will play for the current French champion HUSKIES.
