The German Baseball-Bundesliga club Gauting Indians announced on their website this week that the 20-year-old utility man Johannes Jung will remain with the team, declining offers from other clubs. He is playing in the German elite league since 2005. He batted .316 (OBP .354/SLG .395) with eight runs and seven RBI in 18 games last year.
The Indians also confirmed ten German players for the 2010 season: Dominik Hartinger, Jakob von Mosch, Jonas Lord, Alexander Howard, Dominic Tietz, André Salcher, Justin Kalnins, Bernhard Huber, Lasse Bischof and Tom Rohrer. An announcement about the new head coach and the foreign reinforcements is expected to follow over the next couple of days.
