While Team Europe already has gathered in Japan for acclimation and first workouts, Samurai Japan will get together this coming weekend. The World No. 1 will face the European selection as part of this year’s Global Baseball Matchups on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 at the Tokyo Dome. Eurosport 2 will broadcast both games live at 10am CET.
Japan however already has named both starting pitchers. On Tuesday right-hander Daichi Ohsera of Hiroshima Carp will take the mound. He had an ERA of 4.05 in the Central League last year and was named Rookie of the Year. Left-hander Takahiro Matsuba of Alessandro Maestri’s ORIX Buffaloes will get the nod on Wednesday.
