Five Italian pitchers held the Dutch team to five hits in a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday in Eindhoven. Sandy Patrone started and went four innings. Roberto Corradini picked up the win later. The Azzurri scored their lone run in the top of the seventh on a sac fly by Leonardo Serafin de Camargo. David Bergman, Kevin Heijstek and Berry van Driel shared the pitching duties for the Netherlands.
