Italy defeats Mariners Prospects

Italy has its first victory during their training camp in Arizona. After losing to Seattle Mariners prospects on Tuesday the team of manager Marco Mazzieri defeated the same opponent one day later by a score of 6-4. The Squadra Azzurri led through the entire of the game en route to the victory. Mario Chiarini went 3-for-4 with three runs to spark the offense. Paolino Ambrosino scored twice. Alessandro Maestri got the start on the mound and struck out four in two scoreless innings. Seraini, Sweeney, Cooper, Crabbe, D’Amico, Richetti, Torra and Venditte also got some work as pitchers. Switch pitcher Pat Venditte of the New York Yankees will be limited to left-handed duty during the 2013 World Baseball Classic due to a right shoulder injury.
