Italy candidate for 2009 Baseball World Cup

The Italian Baseball Federation announced on Saturday their intentions to organize the 2009 Baseball World Cup (BWC). They official informed the IBAF to be a candidate. The only other known country, which wants to host the next BWC, is Venezuela.

The last BWC took place in Taiwan in November. Team USA halted the winning streak of Cuba and won the title for the first time since 1974.
