Kristina Thorson (W 1-0) struck out twelve in seven two-hit innings to lead FORLI to a 1-0 shutout in game one of the Italian Softball Series against DES CASERTA. The lone run was scored in the sixth on a throwing error by shortstop Chantal Millard. Jennifer Davis (L 0-1) issued one hit, one unearned run and a walk in six innings.

DES CASERTA came back a few hours later to even the series with an own 1-0 win. Lisa Birocci (W 1-0) surrendered just five hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings. The run also got over the plate in the sixth, when Pamela Mazzarella drove in Chantal Millard with a single. Leslie Malerich (L 0-1) conceded six hits, a run and two bb in seven innings.
