Sanotint Bollate – Museo D’Arte Nuoro 7-0 (5), 2-0
SANOTINT celebrated two shutouts over NUORO on the third game day of the Italian Softball League. Debora Moretto pitched a five-inning no-hitter in game one, allowing just three walks, while striking out eight. Valentina Marazzi hit a homerun and drove in four. In the second match Kelly Hardie struck out 15 in a seven-inning complete game, giving up four hits and bb. Brenda DeBlaes provided the run support with a two-run homerun in the third.
AMGA Legnano – Des Caserta 1-4, 6-12
DES CASERTA also stayed undefeated after six games, winning both ends of their doubleheader against LEGNANO. In the first match they took the lead for good on a bases loaded walk by Lisa Birocci in the fifth in a 4-1 win. Birocci itself had a wild day on the mound, conceding eight bb in five innings, though without much harm, as she was able to limit the AMGA offense to two hits and a run. In the second game DES CASERTA scored all twelve runs in the last four frames in a 12-6 slugfest. Melissa Sanchez and Francesca Seguella each drove in three. Justine Smethurst hit a solo homerun for LEGNANO.
Mosca Macerata – Europromo Titano Hornets 0-12 (5), 4-1
Laura Gerussi and Anita Rosano combined to throw five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks in a 12-0 shutout of the HORNETS in MACERATA. Samantha Fleeman led the offense with a homerun and three RBI. Ashley Hamby also drove in three. Veronica Fontana scored three times after going three-for-four. In the second match Jocelin McCallum dominated with 17 strikeouts in seven solid innings to lead MOSCA to a 4-1 win. She allowed just four hits, a run and five bb. Melinda Weaver went four-for-four with two runs scored and a RBI.
Fiorini Forli – Cassa Padana Parma 7-0 (6), 4-0
FORLI captured two shutouts over PARMA to move their record to 5-1 for the season. In game one Irene Lolli and Serena Filiput allowed just two hits and a walk in six scoreless innings. Sabrina DelMastio went two-for-three with three RBI and two runs scored. In the second part of the twin bill, Leslie Malerich struck out twelve in six innings in a 4-0 win. Stefania Vitaliani and Sara Avanzi drove in the four runs with two-run singles in the third and fifth frames.
