Rimini took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Italian Baseball Series with a 3-2 win over Unipol Bologna on Thursday evening. Ricardo Bertagnon decided the outcome with a two-out walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Raul Rivero had retired the first two batters of the frame, but then ran into trouble, loading the bases. Filippo Crepaldi came in and Bertagnon deposited the second pitch into right field for the win. Fortitudo had led since a two-run fifth when Marco Sabbatani and Daniele Malengo hit RBI singles. Rimini scored its first run on a solo home run by Giuseppe Mazzanti in the second.
