Rimini celebrated a sweep on Friday in the Italian Baseball League. The Pirates defeated Toshiba Mastiff Grosseto 5-0 and 7-1. Yorman Bazardo and Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez combined to allow just three hits and a walk in the shutout, while striking out 13. In game two Jack Santora and Mario Chiarini each collected four hits and three runs to lead Rimini to the victory.
Meanwhile T&A San Marino won 9-0 against the Godo Knights. Jim Magrane and three relievers kept Godo to four hits and seven walks in nine scoreless innings. 14 strikeouts helped to make up for the flurry of base runners. At the plate Mattia Reginato drove in three.
Parma stunned Unipol Bologna with a 5-2 11-inning win. A RBI single by Stefano Desimoni and a two-run double by Osman Marval provided three runs in the top of the second extra inning. Parma already was trying to decide in the ninth, but Bologna was able to tie it with a sac fly by Nicholas Nosti.
