The regular season in the Italian Baseball League ended on Saturday. FORTITUDO BOLOGNA, DANESI NETTUNO, MONTEPASCHI GROSSETO and T&A SAN MARINO reached the post season. These four teams will play another round robin in the coming weeks to determine the two participants of the Italian Series, which will be held at the end of August.
Montepaschi Grosseto – Cariparma 5-0

Emiliano Ginanneschi, Alessandro Medaglini, Fabio Toniazzi and Lorenzo Avagnina combined for a no-hitter for GROSSETO in a 5-0 shutout to complete the sweep against PARMA. They allowed just four walks in the nine innings, while striking out just one. Avagnina picked up the win.
Their offense waited till the eighth frame to deliver the run support. Gabriele Ermini drove in two. Andrea De Santis went three-for-four with a RBI.
Flippo Mori allowed five hits and a base on balls in six innings for CARIPARMA. Roberto Corradini took the loss.
Fortitudo Bologna – Telemarket Rimini 9-3

Richard Austin hit his tenth homerun of the season, as FORTITUDO defeated RIMINI 9-3. Daniele Frignani (3-4, 2 runs) also drove in two. Lino Connell reached three times and scored twice.
Fabio Betto started and allowed three hits and a run in four innings. Riccardo Paoletti received the win. Sandy Patrone took the loss, after getting charged with six hits, four runs and a walk in four innings.
T&A San Marino – Danesi Nettuno 6-19

At the conclusion of the regular season SAN MARINO and NETTUNO put on a spectacular offensive show for the 300 people in attendance. DANESI scored 17 runs in the first four periods en route to a 19-6 victory. Renato Imperiali hit two homeruns and drove in five runs. Juan Camilo finished with three hits, including a homerun, four runs scored and five RBI. Giuseppe Mazzanti (2-3, 4 runs, 2 RBI) also hit the ball out of the park. Igor Schiavetti and Leonardo Mazzanti each had three RBI for NETTUNO.
Adolfo Matamoros drove in two for T&A. Max Di Biase went three-for-five with two runs scored and a RBI.
Obviously it was not a good day for the pitchers. Carlos Richetti struck out seven in five innings to pick up the win. He allowed nine hits, four runs (2 ER) and two walks. William Lucena was charged with ten hits, 13 runs (12 ER) and seven bb in three-plus innings. Only 46 of his 101 pitches were strikes.
De Angelis Godo – Rangers Redipuglia 10-4

Danilo Sanchez (3 runs, 3 RBI) homered twice, Manuel Marussich (2 RBI) and David Skrehot (3 RBI) once to lead GODO to a 10-4 win against the RANGERS.
Johnny Carvajal (RED) was three-for-five with a homerun and two RBI.
Matteo Galeotti (GOD) allowed five hits, four runs and five walks in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Diego Zorzenon (RED) gave up four hits, five runs (4 ER) and five bb in two-plus innings for the loss.
