6th Annual EBCA Convention

ISG’s 2009-10 European Baseball Coaches’ Clinic schedule got off to a great start with the 6th European Baseball Coaches Association’s convention. Over 110 coaches from 11 different countries attended this year’s clinic.
An outstanding clinic team presented a weekend full of valuable information and ideas for the attending coaches to take back to their teams. ISG President Jim Jones brought an excellent clinic team over to complement an outstanding group of European speakers.
Jim Lefebvre, former Major League player, coach and manager and Chinese national team manager, headlined the clinic speakers. His experience and expertise provided both entertaining and practical information for the European coaches. Mike Lane’s presentations showed why he was one of the winningest NCAA II coaches.
In addition to the ISG speakers, Vaughn Robinson (Arizona Diamondbacks strength & conditioning coach and MLB), Steve Janssen (Rotterdam Neptunus Manager – Dutch Champions) and Mauro Mazzotti (Telemarket Rimini and Spanish National Team Manager) showed why they are leaders in international baseball. Their level of expertise was evident and appreciated throughout the weekend.
The EBCA honored Clive Russell (MLB) with its 2009 Achievement Award and Steve Janssen was honored as the 2009 European Coach of the Year.
The EBCA management team did an outstanding job of organizing, planning and staging the convention. Under their leadership the EBCA continues to be a growing organization that is serving the needs of coaches throughout Europe.
