The International Softball Federation (ISF) announced on Monday that Caracas in Venezuela will be the host for the 2010 Women’s Softball World Championships. The tournament will be held from June 23rd to July 2nd. Originally the event was supposed to be played in Oklahoma City, USA, but a scheduling conflict with the Central American and Caribbean Games led to the search of a new site. 16 countries will be playing in the 12th edition of the World Championships.

How did they have a conflict in Oklahoma with a competition being held in Puerto Rico?

Three teams wouldn’t have been able to participate in the World Championships. And since the ballpark in Oklahoma City wasn’t available on a different date, the ISF also had to find a new venue besides the new date.
