The 2010 season in the Dutch Hoofdklasse just ended a few weeks ago. Vice champion L&D Amsterdam Pirates announced first transactions in a press release on Tuesday. Percy Isenia and Jurrian Koks will join the club, while Michael Kramer is retiring and Pim Walsma is leaving for Corendon Kinheim.
The 33-year-old first baseman Isenia is coming from Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam, where he batted .279 (OBP .349/SLG .349) with eleven runs and 16 RBI in 38 games. Koks is 26 years old and split time between starting and relieving for ADO in the 2010 season. He had a 3-5 record with an ERA of 3.98 in 20 games (five starts). He struck out 51 in 61 innings, walking 15.
Kramer is hanging up his cleats after batting .206 (OBP .336/SLG .255) with eleven runs and ten RBI in 36 games (28 starts) this year. Walsma, who also is a member of the Dutch national team, struggled with his control in 2010, having an ERA of 7.40 in 16 relief appearances for the Pirates. He struck out eleven batters in 20 2/3 innings, but also walked 32.
