The 12th edition of the International Baseball Tournament Finkstonball takes place in Attnang-Puchheim, Austria this weekend. Twelve teams from Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovenia, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Romania, Croatia and Switzerland will play for the trophy on three days of competition. Last year DINAMO BUCHAREST prevailed in the finals against the BAD HOMBURG HORNETS. Both clubs are also on hand this time around.

From May 29th to June 1st 2009, the Athletics Baseballclub will organize the 12th Annual International Senior Baseball Tournament „FINKSTONBALL XII“. The tournament is open to a maximum of 12 senior baseball teams and will be played on two fields. The preliminary round games will be played on Saturday and Sunday morning. Semifinals will be on Sunday afternoon, on Monday (bank holiday) the finals and the homerun-derby will take place on the main field.

Over 1800 players in 114 teams from 13 different nations have participated in the past eleven years. The FINKSTONBALL Baseball tournament is Austria’s biggest Baseball event and hundreds of visitors watch the games throughout the weekend.

This tournament is combined with an outstanding music festival, including daily evening events. Each night, top Austrian and International bands will perform live on the main stage. All events will take place in a multi-purpose event hall, located directly next to the baseball fields.
