Huskies Rouen sign Jason Kosow

The Huskies Rouen have found a replacement for Karl MEIJHOLM, who had left the club this winter. They signed the American Jason KOSOW for the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old pitcher is from Mount Kisco, New York. KOSOW went to the Babson College in Massachusetts. He is the all-time strikeouts leader (194) there and led the school to their first NEWMAC Championship and to a NCAA tournament berth in 2004. Over the course of four seasons he had an ERA of 2.70 in 180.1 innings pitched.

He was selected by the Chicago Cubs organization in the 27th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He appeared in 20 games as a reliever on the rookie and low A level in the same year. He struck out 28 in 31.1 innings pitched, while walking 18. He had a combined ERA of 3.00.

However his career hit a stop sign after his first pro season. An arm injury required a surgery, which led to his release. He resumed his pro career in 2006 with the Worcester Tornados and joined Nashua Pride of the CanAm League one year later. In 23 games (9 starts) in 2007 he posted a 2-5 record with an ERA of 3.36. He struck out 48 (40 walks) in 72 1/3 innings.

KOSOW also received attention in the United States last year for his appearance in the ESPN series “The Bronx is Burning”, that chronicled the 1977 season of the New York Yankees. He played the role of Hall of Famer Jim “Catfish” HUNTER.
