In a make-up game of a previous rainout, Corendon Kinheim defeated DOOR Neptunus 6-2 in ten innings on Tuesday evening in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Kinheim scored five runs in the top of the tenth to decide the outcome. Kinheim used a pair of hits and two errors to plate the five runs. Mervin Gario had the big hit with a two-run single.
Benjamin Dille had tied the game for Neptunus in the ninth, plating Gyenuar Lopez with a one-out single. Rudy van Heydoorn followed with a single to load the bases, still with one out. But Rafael Jozefa grounded into a rally-ending double play, sending the game to extra innings.
Otherwise pitchers David Bergman (6 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 SO) and Diegomar Markwell (8 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 SO) dominated the headlines of the game. In the end Aschwin Asjes got the win after blowing the save in the ninth. Berry van Driel was charged with the loss.
