DOOR NEPTUNUS has taken a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series in the Holland Series with a 8-4 win over KONICA MINOLTA PIONIERS on Sunday afternoon. Game four of the series will be played in Hoofddorp next Saturday.
NEPTUNUS took a fast 2-0 lead in the opening frame, doubled the score in the fourth. The PIONIERES cut the deficit to a run in the sixth, but DOOR answered with two runs, added two more in the seventh and cruised to the four-run victory.
Benjamin Dille, Raily Legito and Martijn Meeuwis each scored twice. Shaldimar Daantji and Sharnol Adriana combined for five RBI. Mervin Gario drove in two for the PIONIERS.
Kevin Heijstek (W 1-0) allowed five hits, three runs (1 ER) and four bb in six innings for the win. He struck out four. Ryan Murphy (L 0-1) surrendered ten hits, eight runs (7 ER) and four walks in six-plus innings.
