The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe have extended the contract with head coach Mike Hartley and several key players for the 2015 season. The new campaign will see the Heidekoepfe return to the European stage. Tyler Lockwood and Jamie McOwen will return. Jay Pecci is coming back as well, but will mainly be used as a coach according to a report in a local newspaper.
Luke Sommer, who has commitments in the United States, will at least join the team for the European Cup and they are hopeful that he then stays for the remainder of the Bundesliga season. Also back on the team are Marius Buck and Johannes Schaeffler. Former German national team hurler Martin Dewald, who is now living in the US, will also join the team for the European Cup.
Simon Guehring is going to be youth coordinator, as the Heidekoepfe hope to integrate more players from their own program into the first-team roster.
