It looks like as this is going to be another long offseason until we know all the teams in the 2012 Italian Baseball League season. According to media reports from Italy there was supposed to be a meeting this weekend to talk about next year’s campaign. But instead it was postponed. The main reason is the fate of BBC Grosseto. They basically receive three more weeks to get their financial problems in order. At least it looks like they are on a good way. The league now will get together during the “Gala dei Diamanti” in Vicenza on December 7 or 8. Hopefully the Orioles still have players at that point. Outfielder Leonardo De Donno is already on the move to Fortitudo Bologna. Infielder Alessandro Vaglio could be next with Danesi Nettuno and Telemarket Rimini the most likely destinations. Others like starting pitcher Riccardo De Santis wait and see what happens with Grosseto baseball.
