Grosseto takes victory in first match versus Nettuno

MONTEPASCHI won the first game of the highly anticipated three-game set against NETTUNO. DANESI had taken an early 1-0-lead through a RBI-double by Frank Menechino. But GROSSETO overcame the deficit in the fourth, scoring four runs on RBIs of Kelly Ramos (3-4) and Lorenzo Avignina. NETTUNO rallied for another run in the sixth on a RBI-double by Juan Camilo, but failed to tie the contest.
Lincoln Mikkelsen allowed five hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk in eight innings. He struck out five. Leonardo D’Amico pitched the ninth for the save. Nelson Cruz was charged with four runs on seven hits and three base on balls in six innings.

Brian Looney struck out seven in 5 2/3 scoreless innings to lead SAN MARINO to a 5-0 shutout against GODO. He gave up just three hits and two walks in the win.
Riccardo Suardi hit a solo-homerun. Seth La Fera drove in two. Adolfo Matamoros had three hits and a RBI.
Ryan Baerlocher took the loss. He allowed eight hits, three runs and three bb in five innings.
