Grosseto loses Tomas Perez to Injury

It is not a lucky offseason for the Italian Baseball League club from Grosseto. After Abraham Nunez decided not to fulfill an agreement, the Orioles also will not have his replacement on the roster for the 2011 season. Fellow former Major Leaguer Tomas Perez injured his elbow and probably will be sidelined for two months. Indications are that they will look elsewhere for a strong foreign option in the lineup. At the moment however it is unclear if they will try to bring in another shortstop or if they move Jhonny Carvajal into the infield and simply sign an outfielder.
