The Italian Baseball League club MONTEPASCHI GROSSETO announced on its website this week that they will contact Ruggero Bagialemani to become the new manager of the team, which won the championship in 2007. Baseball.it reported already about rumors that the long-time player/coach of DANESI NETTUNO will take this position in July. Bagialemani resigned as manager of NETTUNO in the fall of 2008. During his active career the now 46-year-old played for the Italian National Team in the 1992 and the 1996 Olympics. He appeared in 1003 games for NETTUNO from 1978 to 2002, batting .339 with 1338 hits. He is second on the all-time hit list in the Italian elite league.
