Two players of the Port of Antwerp Greys will not return for the 2010 season due to retirement. Second baseman Filip Van Der Meiren wants to focus on the Flanders Baseball Academy. He batted .259 (OBP .381/SLG .356) with 32 runs scored and 27 RBI in 2009, his 14th season in the Belgian First Division. Third baseman Gert Rosiers also will not come back. He made his debut in the highest division in Belgium with the Antwerp Eagles in 1994. Since 2002 he is playing for the Greys. This past season he batted .323 (OBP .433/SLG .454) with four homeruns, 26 runs scored and 24 RBI. The club already lost shortstop Sam D’Oliveira (.346/.420/.375), who will join new champion Hoboken Pioneers.
