The inaugural Great Britain All-Star Series, one of the most important and highly-anticipated events in the BBF calendar, will be launched on the weekend of 19-20 April at Farnham Park, the new home of British baseball.
The four-weekend series will see the GB Lions, GB Juniors, Northern All-Stars and Southern All-Stars, teams full of some of the top talent in British baseball, fight it out for bragging rights.
Other GB All-Star Series dates are 3-4 May, 25 May and 5-6 July.
The GB All-Star Series, the first competition of its kind, has been designed to bring regular top-flight baseball to Farnham Park as well as to help prepare our National Teams for international competition and to raise much-needed funds for Team GB.
As well as the best baseball on offer in the UK, there will be food, drinks, GB apparel and equipment on sale and GB-run clinics for kids of all ages.
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
GB Baseball continues to lead the way in player development, and throughout the GB All-Star Series, there will also be development opportunities for BBF umpires and coaches.
Level 1-qualified umpires are invited to start their Level 2 on-field training at the GB All-Star Series games and Levels 1 and 2-qualified coaches are invited to be on the coaching staff for any of the teams involved, learning player and game management skills from the likes of Liam Carroll (GB Lions), Will Lintern (GB Juniors), Gavin Marshall (Hull Scorpions) and Marty Cullen (Southern Nationals).
BBF National Teams Programme Official Marty Cullen said: ”We’re really proud to bring the GB All-Star Series to Farnham Park. The British baseball community has been very supportive over the years and Team GB is really excited to give something back.”
