Godo-Verona promotes Duo to Italian Baseball League

The newly formed collaboration between Godo and Verona helps two players from the Serie A2 into the Italian Baseball League according to Baseball.it. Outfielder Lucas Montalbetti and pitcher Francesco Grigoletto are going to play for Godo in the upcoming season after having spent the 2009 season with Verona, which will serve as the IBL2 team.

Montalbetti is 27 years old and originally from Argentina. Since seven years he is playing for Serie B and Serie A2 clubs in Italy. Last season he batted .387 (OBP .503/SLG .548) with one homerun, five triples, seven doubles, 40 runs and 24 RBI in 33 games.

Grigoletto is 23 years old. He played his first full season in the Serie A2 in 2008, recording 78 strikeouts in 106 innings for Riccione. In 2009 he had an ERA of 6.75 in eleven appearances (one start) for Verona, striking out 16 batters in 22 2/3 innings (eleven walks). He is currently playing Baseball in Perth, Australia, but will be back right in time for the start of the new season.
