Last year’s seventh-finisher DE ANGELIS GODO continues to reinforce the roster for the upcoming season in the Italian Baseball League. They have signed infielder Lino Connell, who played for FORTITUDO BOLOGNA the past two years. He batted .328 (OBP .437/SLG .432) with one homerun, ten doubles, 24 runs scored and 19 RBI in 34 games.
He was born on March 12th, 1972 in Maracaibo, Venezuela and began his professional career with the California Angels, where he played for their Minor League affiliates for three seasons. After his career with the MLB organization Connell moved on to Independent League ball and also played six years in Mexico, before coming to Italy. This winter he was on the roster of the Caribes de Anzoátegui in the Venezuelan Winter League, batting .272 (OBP .372/SLG .346) in 38 games.
