Godo upsets Rimini, Parma wins too

The series switched to San Marino, but CARIPARMA won there too. Leonardo Zileri and Orlando Munoz had RBI singles as they scored three runs in the top of the third for a 3-0 lead. T&A cut the deficit to 2-3 with RBI singles in the seventh and eighth period, but failed to bring another one home to tie the game.

Michael Jared Natale struck out seven in eight solid innings for the win. He allowed six hits, two runs and three base on balls. Tiago Da Silva topped Natale’s strikeout total with ten, but also gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk in eight innings.

GODO upset RIMINI on Friday evening by holding on to an early, slim lead to win 2-1. DE ANGELIS opened the contest with two runs through a RBI double by David Skrehot and a RBI single by Mike Lockwood. Mario Chiarini got TELEMARKET on the scoreboard with a solo shot in the second. But afterwards both pitching staffs dominated and didn’t allow any more runs.

Michael Nisco picked up the win after seven innings, allowing one run on four hits. Buddy Bengel recovered from the early struggle, but lost anyway. He was charged with five hits, two runs and two walks in eight innings.

Fortitudo Bologna – Montepaschi Grosseto 7-4

FORTITUDO overcame an early 0-2 deficit by scoring three runs in the fourth and four in the eighth en route to a 7-4 victory against GROSSETO. Joseph Mazzuca went two-for-four with two runs scored and two RBI for BOLOGNA. Juan Angrisano added also a pair of RBIs. Claudio Liverziani scored twice. Raul Marval, Gabriele Ermini and Lorenzo Avagnina had RBIs for the ORIOLES.

Jesus Matos allowed six hits, two runs and a walk in seven innings for the win. Lincoln Mikkelsen gave up three hits, three runs and four bb in seven innings. He had to take the loss, after throwing 111 pitches, 65 for strikes.

Danesi Nettuno – Rangers Redipuglia 8-2

NETTUNO didn’t toy around and scored five runs in the first on their way to an 8-2 victory against the RANGERS.  Vincent Parisi drove in three. Leonardo Mazzanti and Renato Imperiali each scored twice.

Nelson Cruz gave up three hits, two runs and two walks in six innings to receive the win. George Delgado took the loss after a wild night. He walked eight batters and threw four wild pitches in five innings. He also allowed five runs on four hits.
