Godo stuns Parma with 13-3 pounding

CARIPARMA hit a bumper on the road to the playoffs, when they got crushed 13-3 on their home field by DE ANGELIS GODO. Kyle Messineo (3 Runs) opened the game with a leadoff homerun and the guests scored seven runs in the first two frames for a commanding 7-3 lead. They added a bunch of insurance runs to complete the upset. Danilo Sanchez (4-5, 4 RBI) and Mike Lockwood (2-4, 3 Runs, 3 RBI) also homered and combined for seven RBI in the blowout. Roberto Toniazzi drove in three.
Ryan Baerlocher (GOD) allowed just three base runners after the second and finished with six solid innings to pick up the win. He gave up five hits, three runs (1 ER) and two walks, while striking out six. Kyle Collina (GOD) struck out three in the remaining three innings to receive the save. Hector Mercado (PAR) was charged with eight hits, eight runs and four base on balls in 4 1/3 innings.

Lincoln Mikkelsen dealt on the mound and the offense finally came through in the eighth to lead GROSSETO to a 3-0 shutout against RIMINI. Mikkelsen struck out seven in 8 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed just four hits and two walks. His teammates put the decisive runs on the board in the next to last frame, on two RBI singles by Davide Dallospedale and Raul Marval in addition to a sac fly by James Bischeri.
Gustavo Martinez (RIM) matched Mikkelsen for the first seven periods, but lost his rhythm at the end of his outing. He gave up nine hits, three runs (2 ER) and two bb in seven-plus innings.
Danesi Nettuno - Fortitudo Bologna 1-4

BOLOGNA won the first showdown between the first and the second in NETTUNO 4-1. DANESI struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the second on a RBI double by Luis Ugueto. But FORTITUDO came back in big style. Richard Austin tied the game in the top of the sixth with a RBI single and Juan Angrisano followed with the winning hit, a three-run homerun over the fence in left-center to complete the four-run rally.
Jesus Matos (BOL) pitched 6 1/3 solid innings for the win, allowing seven hits, one run and three walks. Nelson Cruz (NET) struck out seven in seven periods on the mound, but lost anyway. He was responsible for four hits, four runs and four bb.
Rangers Redipuglia – T&A San Marino 1-9

SAN MARINO got back into victory lane by scoring in seven of the nine frames against REDIPUGLIA en route to a 9-1 win. Francesco Imperiali hit a solo homerun. Pinch hitter Marco Benvenuti drove in two. Martin Vazquez went three-for-four and led four players, which scored twice.
Horacio Estrada (SMA) struck out nine in six innings to pick up the win. He allowed just one run on four hits. George Delgado (RED) gave up eight hits, five runs and a walk in six innings.
