The IBAF, MLB and global youth baseball leaders meet in Taichung to discuss baseball development
Hotel One, Taichung Chinese Taipei was the setting for the inaugural Youth Development Summit. Initiated by IBAF President Riccardo Fraccari, the summit also included Little League’s Steve Keener, Babe Ruth’s Robert Faherty and Pony Baseball’s Abe Key, along with members of the IBAF executive.
”This event is a fantastic opportunity to have all the major youth development players in one room, along with international baseball’s leadership to begin an open, ongoing dialogue to expand the game globally. There is a no question baseball is a global game, however this group of people can allow the game to rise to the next level.” stated President Fraccari from Taichung.
The wide ranging topics include calendar harmonization, discussions relating to difference in field sizes, the need for approaching each country with bespoke plans based on the needs of each nation and collaboration on development projects.
