
The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg and the Untouchables Paderborn have reached the German finals in the Baseball-Bundesliga. Regensburg used a solo homerun by Evan LeBlanc and a walk-off RBI single by Lukas Jahn to overcome a 3-4 deficit in the bottom of the ninth in a 5-4 win over the Solingen Alligators in game three. With the victory they completed the sweep in the best-of-five series. They won twice in Solingen to get home with a 2-0 lead.
Paderborn also had a 2-0 lead in the series against the Bonn Capitals going into the weekend. They needed four games to clinch a finals berth. In game three Bonn celebrated a 10-4 win to avoid the sweep. Bradley Roper-Hubbert and Marcel Schulz combined for five RBI. Tim Henkenjohann went the distance. The Untouchables decided the outcome in the series with a 7-6 victory in game four. However they nearly blew a 7-0 lead on the way to the win.
The German finals start next weekend with two games in Regensburg.
