The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg and the Untouchables Paderborn are just one win away from reaching the championship series in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. Regensburg won 7-3 and 5-2 against the Solingen Alligators. Chris Zirzlmeier and Evan LeBlanc hit homeruns in game one. Mike Bolsenbroek pitched eight three-hit innings for the win. Justin Kuehn out-dueled J.D. Scholten (both complete games) in the second game.
Paderborn celebrated 3-1 and 5-4 victories over the Bonn Capitals. In the first game Eugen Heilmann out-pitched fellow national teamer Tim Henkenjohann and the U’s offense scored single runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth. In the second game Paderborn overcame a 2-4 deficit on singles by Octavio Medina and Sascha Brockmeyer in the top of the ninth. Bradley Roper-Hubert had hit a two-run homerun for Bonn in the first inning.
