German right-handed pitcher Markus Solbach got promoted to High A by the Arizona Diamondbacks for the last month of the minor league season. The 23-year-old, who started his professional career with the Minnesota Twins in 2011 then played independent ball before returning to affiliated minor league baseball with the Diamondbacks last year, began the season with the Kane County Cougars in the Midwest League. In 20 starts he posted a 9-4 record with an ERA of 2.88, while striking out 56 and walking 30 in 121 1/3 innings. He was now assigned to the Visalia Rawhide of the California League.
