German Clubs with mixed results against Spanish Rivals

Two German clubs are currently in Spain for their spring training camps. The Paderborn Untouchables are in Barcelona, the Mannheim Tornados in Tenerife.

Untouchables in Barcelona:
The U’s lost their opener against Sant Boi (0-1) on Saturday. But they came back strong, winning a slugfest 10-9 versus Barcelona 10-9 on Tuesday. One day later they lost 3-11 to the FCB. They are completing their trip on Friday, with a game against Hercules L’Hospitalet. Check the link to see some clips of the Barcelona-Paderborn games.

Mannheim Tornados in Tenerife:
The Tornados already played two exhibitions against the Spanish champion Marlins Puerto Cruz. They have won both. Philipp HOEHLEIN and Geoff FREEBORN allowed just seven hits, one run and three walks in a 4-1 victory in the first one. Leslie NACAR started for the Marlins, giving up four hits, three runs (2 ER) and five base on balls in five frames. He was replaced by Ivan GRANADOS, who finished the match with four no-hit innings, walking four. Each had seven strikeouts.

The second game was a lopsided 11-0 six-inning affair. Eddie AUCOIN and Rene FRANKE gave up just three hits and two walks, while each pitching three periods. Chris FALLS and Marvin APPIAH were responsible for four RBI. Billy HESS scored three times. The hurlers of Puerto Cruz, Toni ROMERO and Audie NUNEZ, had massive control problems. They combined for five innings, allowing four hits, eleven runs (9 ER) and 13 bb. The Marlins defense committed six errors.
