The German semifinals are tied 1-1 after the first two games. The Bonn Capitals, which reached the semifinals with a 6-1 win over the Solingen Alligators on Saturday, settled for a split in a doubleheader against the Munich-Haar Disciples on Sunday. In game one the Capitals blew by the Disciples 10-0 in seven innings. Markus Solbach threw a seven-inning shutout. In game two Munich-Haar rebounded with a 7-4 win behind 14 strikeouts from Ryan Bollinger. Meanwhile the series between the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe and the Mainz Athletics is also tied. On Saturday the Heidekoepfe prevailed 5-2 in a rainy series opener. In game two on Sunday the A’s held on to a 3-2 victory over Heidenheim. Games three to five will be played in Munich and Mainz this coming weekend.
