Gauting Indians release Jakub Janda

Mister-Baseball has learned that the Gauting Indians have released the 19-year-old Czech pitcher Jakub Janda. He made one appearance for the German Baseball-Bundesliga club, allowing two unearned runs on one hit and two walks in one inning against the Haar Disciples on Easter Monday. Apparently financial reasons were the cause for the termination of the contract. The right-hander, who has an 89-MPH fastball, signed in March with the club from the Munich suburbs. They are going to play against the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg on Sunday.
