Gauting Indians add C/IF, maintain most of 2010 Roster

The Gauting Indians announced on Sunday that they have added the 23-year-old catcher/infielder Florin Repper from the 2nd Baseball-Bundesliga club Freising Grizzlies for the 2011 season. After struggling the year before, he batted .363/.463/.385 with two doubles, 20 runs scored and eight RBI in 28 games in 2010, leading the league with 33 hits. The Indians hope that he adds some speed to the lineup of last year’s seventh-ranked squad in the southern division. Gauting further mentions in the article on the club website that it will maintain most of the 2010 roster. Only the Americans Andy Kropf, Kory Twede and Kyle Kearcher will not come back. Daniel Husband was named new head coach in mid-January.
