The Rouen Huskies are leading Paris UC 2-0 in the semi-finals of the French Division I. The Huskies won games one and two 7-5 and 7-5 on Sunday to get ahead 2-0 in the best-of-five series. In game one Rouen took a quick 4-0 lead after three frames and was up in front 7-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, when PUC rallied for five runs and made things interesting. Jeff McKenzie struck out eight in eight scoreless three-hit innings for the win. Ronny Materano took the loss. In game two the Huskies erased deficits of 0-1 and 1-4 en route to the win. A two-run single by Oscar Combes in the top of the ninth broke a 5-5 tie to secure the win.
The second semi-final is tied. The Templiers Senart won 3-2 over the Montpellier Barracudas in game one on Saturday. But on Sunday Montpellier prevailed 14-12 in a high-scoring slugfest. The series switch to Senart and Rouen for games three to five.
