The official announcement is still outstanding, but all signs indicate that former Major Leaguer Francisco Alberto Cruceta is going to play for Telemarket Rimini this season. The 30-year-old Dominican right-hander had a combined ERA of 7.96 in 26 innings, pitching for the Cleveland Indians (2004), Seattle Mariners (2006) and Detroit Tigers (2008). He also spent time with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers organizations. In 2009 and 2010 he pitched for the Samsung Lions in South Korea. Last year he was with two independent league teams. In KBO and minor league and independent league ball he had a combined ERA of 3.98 in 270 games. He got suspended in 2007 for 50 games being tested positive for steroids while playing in the minors.
