Fortitudo takes over first place with sweep against Godo

SAN MARINO also won the second game in Grosseto. They tied the game in the top of the fifth on a sac fly by James Buccheri. An inning later they scored the winning runs through a homerun by Max Di Biase and a sac fly from Adolfo Matamoros.
Andrea Sgnaolin had three hits and a RBI for MONTEPASCHI.
Mattew Marrone started for T&A. He allowed three hits and three runs (1 ER) in four innings. Pedro Orta received the win for three one-hit innings of relief. Chris Cooper (GRO) gave up six hits and three runs (1 ER) in five innings. Yovany D’Amico took the loss.

MONTEPASCHI avoided a sweep against SAN MARINO by winning a thriller on Saturday evening. Davide Dallospedale was the hero with a RBI walk off single in the bottom of the ninth. Jorge Nunez, who walked four times, scored his third run on the hit. Lorenzo Avagnina was three-for-five with two runs and a RBI.
Dean Rovinelli got three hits for T&A.
Both starters struggled in the first period, but get better afterwards. Matteo Tonellato (SMA) was charged with six hits, three runs (2 ER) and four base on balls in 5 2/3 innings. Riccardo De Santis (GRO) conceded five runs (2 ER) on five hits in 6 1/3 innings. Luca Martignoni took the loss. Emiliano Ginanneschi received the win.
Cariparma – Rangers Redipuglia 8-1

Adolfo Gomez and Marco Vasini each scored three times in the 8-1 rout of PARMA. Orlando Munoz drove in three with three hits in four at-bats. Johnny Carvajal denied the shutout bid, homering for the RANGERS in the ninth.
Michael Jared Natale dominated on the defensive end. He struck out ten in seven scoreless innings. He allowed just four hits and three walks. Matteo Bertoldi managed only four outs and was replaced in the second frame after four hits, five runs and six bb.
Cariparma – Rangers Redipuglia 12-11

PARMA completed the sweep in the evening with a wild win. Both squads scored in each of the first four frames. The game went into the ninth with the score tied at 11. Claudio Biagini scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. He had reached with a single and advanced all the way to home on a sac bunt in combination with a horrible throwing error by pitcher Marco Zorzenon, who also took the loss.
Johnny Carvajal hit his second homerun of the day and scored four times. He had reached base six times. Lizahio Baez had four hits and two RBI for REDIPUGLIA. Ivan Cechet drove in three.
Leonardo Zileri, who had two RBI and two runs for CARIPARMA, hit also a homerun. Riccardo Bertagnon scored three runs.
Andrea Cossar started for the RANGERS. He was charged with 14 hits, eleven runs (10 ER) and two bb in 5 2/3 innings. Flippo Mori was not better. He allowed three hits, five runs and five walks in two-plus innings.

NETTUNO load the bases in the top of the eleventh and Frank Menechino delivered a bases clearing double for the 9-6 win of his club. RIMINI had forced extra innings, after tying the game in the bottom of the ninth on back-to-back doubles by Manny Alexander and Amaury Garcia.
Juan Camilo (NET) hit a homerun.
Victor Arias (NET) got the start and allowed seven hits, four runs (3 ER) and three walks in six innings. He was opposed by Buddy Bengel (RIM). He gave up two hits, four runs and two walks in five innings. Giovanni Carrara received the win after three innings of relief. Chris Di Roma took the loss.
Telemarket Rimini – Danesi Nettuno 1-4

DANESI took the series with a 4-1 win in game three of the series against RIMINI. Ramon Tavarez got them an early lead with a three-run shot in the third. TELEMARKET cut the deficit on a RBI single by Jack Santora in the fifth, but NETTUNO added an insurance run in the eighth with a RBI single by Carlos Duran.
Carlos Richetti struck out eight in his complete game victory. He allowed six hits, a run and two walks. He needed 132 pitches (83 strikes) for the nine innings. Sandy Patrone lost the match. He gave up three hits, three runs and six bb in four innings.

Ryner Bautista (4-5, 4 RBI) and Manuel Gasparri homered for BOLOGNA as they moved into first place with their third win in the third game against win-less GODO.
Fabio Betto had not his best stuff available, but won anyway. He allowed ten hits, four runs and a walk in 5 1/3 innings. Lino Luciani was responsible for eleven hits, seven runs and a bb in 4 1/3 innings.
